Norwegian Air Argentina starts operation with tickets from 65 dollars

Subsidiary of the European low-cost company debuted flights between Buenos Aires and Cordoba and Mendoza on Tuesday

The first flights of Norwegian Air Argentina, subsidiary of the low-cost airline based in Norway, took off on Tuesday from Buenos Aires. With just one plane for now (a Boeing 737-800 received earlier this year), the new airline promises to change air transport in Argentina.

Initially, two destinations, Córdoba and Mendoza, will be served with very attractive prices of $ 65 in the first case and $ 85 in the second – one-way only. As an example, a trip between the Argentine capital and Cordoba by Aerolineas Argentinas, the main company of the country, can cost from 100 dollars, 50% more expensive than by Norwegian.

More destinations

Norwegian Air Argentina’s plans are ambitious. Also this week, from the 19th, two new cities will be served, Iguazu and Neuquen, and on December 3 will be the time of Bariloche and Salta. Ironically, passengers arriving in Argentina on a flight from London on the Norwegian Air flight will have the discomfort of having to travel by taxi or bus from Ezeiza airport, 40 km from Aeroparque airport, to then travel by the Argentine subsidiary. .

For Norwegian, however, this is an advantage: “Passengers can easily take the opportunity to share their trip and spend time visiting the vibrant city of Buenos Aires before exploring other parts of Argentina,” the company’s statement said. As the saying goes, “there is no free lunch”.
