After a period of low production, Embraer is expected to end November with more aircraft delivered from the new E2 family. Just last week, two E195-E2 jets were delivered by the manufacturer, one for Azul Linhas Aereas and one for Spanish Binter Canarias.
Azul, launch customer of the largest variant of the E2 series, now has three jets in its fleet, but is expected to receive two more units by the end of the year. The Brazilian airline has a total of 51 aircraft ordered to replace the current E195-E1 fleet.
Binter Canarias, in turn, is the first European customer to receive the largest of the three models of the E2 family. Another four jets will be delivered to the company in an order valued at $ 342 million.

“This Embraer E195-E2 aircraft is an important step in the history of our company that will become as well a jet operator. This new milestone, which coincides with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Binter, adds more advances to the ones that we have made in recent years, and that help to pursue our main objective: the improvement of the connecting of the Canary Islands, both inter-island and with external destinations,” said Pedro Augustín del Castillo, president of Binter.
Binter’s fleet currently has 22 ATR 72 turboprop aircraft (-500 and -600 models). The Spanish company also flies with three Bombardier CRJ1000 jets, but operated by wet-lease companies.
Amid the new deliveries, the E2 family had a new customer unveiled, Somon Air of Tajikistan. The airline has announced that it will lease two E190-E2 jets from Russian leasing company VTB.
Scheduled for delivery in 2020, the two new aircraft will complement its current Boeing 737 fleet of which it has four units.
