Boeing won orders for 82 commercial jets in February

Boeing managed to reverse a steady decline in the number of commercial jets ordered in February. The US airframer has again accumulated several orders, including a new batch of KC-46 aircraft for the U.S. Air Force. According to company data, 82 aircraft orders were received, 39 of them for the 737 MAX.

Not to mention military aircraft, Boeing had a total of 55 jets ordered – in addition to MAX, deals were signed for four 787 Dreamliner (for unidentified customers), 11 777X for Singapore Airlines and a 747-8 that was in storage and which is quoted to be converted for use as VIP transport.

Of the 737 MAX, 25 units were ordered by United Airlines, while the rest did not have customers revealed by Boeing. Singapore, for its part, had already informed its decision to convert orders from 787 to the largest of 777.

As a result, Boeing’s commercial aircraft backlog grew again after more than a year of decline. According to the company, there are 4,978 aircraft pending delivery, however, accounting adjustments remove 937 planes from this total, leaving 4,041 units left.

This list of unsecured orders includes 759 737 MAX, 124 777X and 54 787 jets. The Dreamliner still has no units delivered for the fourth month in a row.

Boeing is experiencing quality problems in its 787 assembly line and therefore had to suspend deliveries while correcting these flaws.

In terms of deliveries, the planemaker was once again behind Airbus. Last month, 22 jets were delivered, including two military aircraft. Civilian models include 18 737 MAX, a 777-300ER and a 767-300F freighter.
