Boeing announced the launch of the business versions of the 777X, its largest twin-engine jet, during the Middle East Business Aviation Association (MEBAA).

Thanks to the incredible range of the jet, the BBJ 777-8 and BBJ 777-9 models will be able to fly non-stop between any  airports in the world.

The BBJ 777-9, for example, has a range of 11,000 nautical miles (20,370 km) while the smaller BBJ 777-8 can fly even further: 11,645 nautical miles (21,570 km). According to Boeing, the two planes can fly more than half way around the world without stopping than any business jet ever built.

“Our most exclusive customers want to travel with the best space and comfort and fly directly to their destination. The new BBJ 777X will be able to like this in the other airplane before it, redefining ultra-long range VIP travel, ” said Greg Laxton, head of Boeing Business Jets.

In addition to unparalleled autonomy, the BBJ 777-8 and 777-9 offer an impressive interior space. While the BBJ 777-8 has a cabin with 3,256 sq. ft. (302.5 sq m) or 777-9 provides an even larger cabin measuring 3,689 sq. ft. (342.7 sq m).

A demonstration of what this generous internal space means was offered by the manufacturer at the event with three interior concepts designed by companies specializing in this service.

The Boeing 777X is expected to fly for the first time in 2019 and enter commercial service in 2020. Adopting innovations of the 787 as more advanced wings and more efficient engines, among other novelties, the new jet will debut the unprecedented folding wingtips to avoid extra costs of adaptation in airports .

The company did not disclose when the BBJ version of the jet could be delivered to the first customers.
